The Instruments Engineering Committee is responsible for standardisation and research in the field of automation and instrumentation.
SSG’s Instrument Engineering Committee came into being in 1971 and works with standardisation and research in the field of automation and instrumentation. This committee aims to monitor technical developments in the field of instrumentation and automation and to develop in line with the technology. The committee also monitors the need for new services and develops these on the basis of SSG standards where necessary.
The committee’s aim is for SSG standards and services to be established as de facto standards in the European process industry, as well as being the actual choice of consultants, designers and suppliers in their attempts to run cost-effective, quality-assured construction, renovation and extension projects in Swedish industry.
This committee is dormant at present, but work is in progress on reviving it to focus on automation, industrial networks, IT security and production systems.
