Sundsvall shows its good heart

Together with many dedicated inhabitants of Sundsvall, SSG has taken the initiative in forming a brand new, regional charitable help organisation. The association has been named Avsändare Sundsvall (Sender Sunsvall).

“We have set up a help organisation for people in need - För Folket Från Folket (For the People from the People). Sundsvall and its surroundings are unique in that people here are big-hearted,” says Carl Johard, marketing and communications manager at SSG Standard Solutions Group AB.

The purpose is to help

The purpose of Avsändare Sundsvall is through various projects to collect money and other necessities for people in need, in Sweden and in the world.

“But through its aid work, the association will also contribute to making people resident in the Sundsvall region and inhabitants of Sundsvall in exile proud of their home town,” says Carl Johard.

Everyone can participate

Every person, company, organisation and association with a heart for Sundsvall and the world is welcome to join us as a member through the association’s website at www.avsandaresundsvall.se. The size of the membership fee is voluntary, based on the motto, “From everyone according to their ability".

“The association is completely run by charitable forces. This means that all membership fees and all funds collected must be passed on directly to the people or groups of people they are intended for. All expenses which the board of directors and elected representatives of the association must pay must be paid by themselves or by sponsors,” says Carl Johard.

Campaign for Project Orongo

Avsändare Sundsvall’s first campaign aims at collecting necessities and money for a water purification project in the deprived province of Orongo in northwest Kenya. SSG and Sundsvall Dragons basketball club already have ongoing projects primarily for supporting all the orphaned children there. Later this year the association will embark on a fundraising project for people in need in the Sundsvall region.
